"The history and tradition of clocks and their makers
captures the imagination; one can only imagine where they have been and
what they have seen as they mark the passage of time. The mystery of
their past is, to me, their essence, and is what motivates me to
preserve the tradition of fine antique clockwork, and to pass it on for
others to admire and enjoy."
–Robin Nance, AWI Certified Clockmaker

I was 14 years old, when I first purchased
a kitchen clock that wasn't working properly. This led me on a search to
learn how to make this clock work again and do it the right way.
Eventually, this led me to become an apprentice to a man in Dallas who
taught me the correct way to repair antique clocks.
Like all vocations, there are right ways and wrong ways. I was
fortunate to learn the right way. I ultimately earned the title
"Certified Clockmaker" from the American Watchmaker and Clockmakers
Institute (AWI). From the years 1973 to 1987, clocks were a sideline as
my pro racing career apexed. Friends and referrals were having me
restore their clocks, or locate special old clocks for them.
This led me to develop a large collection of my own. As people would
come to the house, some would offer to buy a clock from my collection.
This slowly developed to the current business. Buying, restoring and
selling antique clocks.
After traveling for many years to antique shows throughout the
country, I have decided to quit the show circuit and dedicate my time to
one location. Now I travel "virtually" through the Internet, and do my
selling and repairing from my shop, which is located in beautiful Fort
Collins, Colorado.
I welcome you to look around my site, view the many clocks I
currently have for sale. You can learn more about antique clocks in general.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail if you have a specific
question, or a specific clock you are searching for. |
